5 Summer Cocktails you need to try pronto

Even your bestie ain’t as warm as the Indian summer and even though it’s only April, the equatorial equinox has already amped up the temperature. Here are some refreshing cocktails which will be your next party-hit.

1. Frozen Mojito

There is absolutely no going wrong with this lemony drink because everyone loves it. It’s pretty much an alcoholic twist on the quintessential nimbu pani. This year, though, make a frozen version of your goto drink, and maybe you can even have it on the go, or at work…but you didn’t hear this from us. How?

Shake and mix:

  • 2 parts Bacardi
  • Spritz of lime
  • Sugar
  • Soda water
  • Slightly crushed mint leaves

2. Sweet Basil Cocktail

Basil is such a summery herb with its fresh taste and smell that can make you come alive when the glaring sun is bringing you down. On a hot, sultry evening, this basil-infused cocktail will definitely lead to some cooling.

Shake and mix:

  • Crushed basil leaves
  • Ice cubes
  • A shot or two of gin
  • Tonic

4. Long Island Iced Tea

A classic, indeed. No summer is complete without a few of these – lots of alcohol and lots of coolness is what make this the ultimate summer cocktail. Keep your alcohol at the ready, people!

Shake and mix:

  • Splash of rum, vodka, gin, white rum, tequila
  • Splash or two of coke
  • Top it with a lemon wedge and drink away to glory!

5. White Sangria

This is a twist on the good ol’ classic sangria that uses white wine instead of red. Use overnight chilled white wine for this sangria and go crazy with the fruits you want to add – strawberries, apples, oranges, berries – it’s summer so gorgeous fruits are in plenty.
