Litti-chokha and beyond.
Bihari cuisine in India

Pictures this: A spoonful of ghee poured over hot litti as you break open the wheat dough ball filled with sattu and dip it into chokha, an eggplant mash. If this doesn’t summarise Bihari cuisine, we don’t know what else will. For us, this is the first thing that comes to mind when talking about Bihari food followed by flabourful and melt-in-mouth champaran meat.

Bihari cuisine is deeply influenced by its geography and cultural heritage. The region is home to abundant rivers, and is known for freshwater fish, vegetables, and lentils. While the food is predominantly vegetarian, meat is also consumed in certain areas and on festive occasions. However, Bihari cuisine is still not an option widely available in restaurants across India.

We did the heavy lifting and have sorted out your litti-chokha and champaran cravings with food joints and restaurants across India serving the best Bihari cuisine.
