Varun Sharma

Awarded to VARUN SHARMA for setting unparallel benchmarks in bartending. Having worked with some of the finest establishments in the industry, Varun Sharma has gained impeccable skill and experience over an impressive 12 years. Currently heading the beverage programme at Comorin, he has amped up the cocktails to be one of the best in the country. Complete with custom sous vide infusions and house-made liquors the bar program is creative, comprehensive and built upon inventive usage of local and seasonal ingredients. His experience in the beverage industry and affable personality has culminated to set a formidable benchmark in bartending, making Varun Sharma a Power Packer.

Vahdam Teas

Awarded to VAHDAM TEAS for disrupting the tea distribution practices worldwide. Founded by Bala Sarda in 2015, Vahdam Teas is one of the first vertically integrated tea brands not just in the country but in the world. Coming from a lineage of over 80 years in the tea business, the tea growers are a priority for the brand. They’ve disrupted a 200-year-old trade practice by cutting the middlemen to provide higher profits to the farmers and the freshest teas to the consumers. Their range of fresh and organic teas has managed to create a formidable name for themselves in a short span of time. The brand won Sarda the titles of Forbes 30 Under 30, Entrepreneur 35 Under 35 and Business World 40 Under 40. They were also the first Indian company to be featured on Oprah Winfrey’s list of Favorite Things, in 2018 and 2019. While 90% of the brand’s revenue comes from international markets, their incredible product has made a significant dent in the Indian market making Vahdam Teas a Power Packer.

Tres

Awarded to TRES for displaying excellence in technique and dining experience. If there’s something that sets Tres apart from other European restaurants in Delhi, it is their ease in hospitality. The ambience and food come together to dispel ease and warmth, something as difficult to replace as their breadbasket. Chefs Julia Carmen Desa and Jatin Mallick reopened its doors in 2019, and they changed more than just the location and decor. Tres made a grand reopening with greater finesse in technique and pronounced flavours with fresh and carefully procured ingredients. Their dishes manage to achieve the rare feat of complexity and familiarity, intelligently utilize seasonal ingredients and come in generous & diverse options. Their commitment to personal growth and promotion of indigenous ingredients makes Tres a Power Packer.

The Earth Collective

Awarded to EARTH COLLECTIVE for their determined efforts to successfully connect earth-friendly brands with conscious consumers. When Meenu Nageshwaran started the Earth Collective in 2016, it was simply meant to be a one-stop destination for fresh and organic produce. The response that Earth Collective received from customers and traders has led to its expansion and relocation against the scenic backdrop of the Sunder Nursery. Farmers from all over the country travel to this market to sell organic products including fresh vegetables, artisanal products and home-made goods including spreads, cookies, pickles, and ghee. Its commitment to form a community that comes together to promote sustainability and organic, pesticide-free and natural products makes Earth Collective a Power Packer.

The Big Chill

Awarded to THE BIG CHILL for their exceptional consistency amid rapid expansion The Big Chill started off as a mom-and-pop cafe in a sleepy lane of Kailash Colony, but soon became a hot favourite with college-goers. Over a course of two decades, The Big Chill has contributed to birthing the culture of casual upscale dining in our city. Weaving together their interests and strengths, Aseem Grover and Fawzia Ahmed created an inclusive space that greatly resonated with everyone who walked through the doors, old and young. This family-run operation has now evolved into an impressive chain of 8 cafes, 3 cakeries, and a creamery sprinkled at locations across Delhi NCR. The perennial 20-minute wait is a remarkable testament to the tribe of loyalists The Big Chill has created. The Big Chill is a marked exception to the rule of PR and marketing and yet continues to have a stronghold over this category. Their consistency in delivering familiar comfort and efficient service in a high-energy setting makes The Big Chill a Power Packer

Plats

Awarded to PLATS for emerging as the city’s go-to experimental gastronomical standalone restaurant Defined with an interior of chic minimalism that doesn’t take the focus away from the food; Plats is all about the food. The newest edition to the list of Delhi’s best European restaurants, Plats is nourishing, delicious, experimental and here to redefine your idea of feasting. Opened in 2019 by chefs Jamsheed Bhote and Hanisha Singh, Plats’ menu includes an array of dishes divided into small and large plates. They’re not shy of experimenting and it shows in their unique menu and palpable flavour profile. The food is prepared with such strong emotions and flavours, you’re bound to find yourself taking a trip down your memory lane. The authenticity in its food and the chefs’ commitment to flavours is what makes Plats a Power Packer.

Together At 12th

An honourable mention is awarded to TOGETHER AT 12TH for its contribution to the F&B landscape of the city. The heart-warming and sustainable concept behind Together at 12th is slickly executed in the way its nuanced menu is planned, the bar program is innovated and space is designed. It checks all the right boxes for an up and coming fine dining space, a hotbed for seasonal and locally inspired culinary innovation. With its carefully curated international collaborations and integrated experiences with artists in the city, the team does a stellar job at roping in the community to be an active part of the change they hope to bring in the Indian food movement. For this spirit of togetherness that shines through their product, Together at 12th gets an honourable mention on our list.

Honourable Mention - 2019

Rooh

An honourable mention is awarded to ROOH for its contribution to the F&B landscape of the city. Rooh’s approach towards its food and bar menu is soulful, incorporating regional flavours in every dish. Developed by Chef Sujan Sarkar, in collaboration with restaurateurs Anu and Vikram Bhambri, the restaurant is located in a refurbished, 150-year-old haveli in the heart of Mehrauli. The thoughtful menu conceptualised with the aim of bridging the gap between Indian and international cuisine retains familiar Indian flavours while playing around with the textures and presentation. The intriguing ambience, as well as the diverse food & beverage offerings, constantly challenge the senses of its customers, elevating the dining experience to a whole new level. The 11-course tasting menu at Rooh takes one on a gastronomic journey of contemporary Indian food. Rooh’s core value of embracing the traditional while pushing for innovation is evident through its loyalty to the Ayurvedic wisdom of 6 rasas. Showcasing the potential of Indian cuisine with a well-rounded experience that evokes new flavours and emotions is what makes Rooh worthy of an honorary mention

HMan

An honourable mention is awarded to HMAN for its contribution to the F&B landscape of the city. HMan started as a pop-up in early 2019 out of the pure passion of Chef Harman Singh, making appearances at various food festivals in the city. From there emerged the brick and mortar in Malviya Nagar which is now every meat lover’s sanctuary. With its cooked to perfection meat, mouth-watering sauces and in-house spice blends, the grill to counter joint makes no compromises when it comes to giving one the ultimate barbecue experience. A single glance at the rustic red bricks, wooden panels and smokey aromas will transport you straight to Texas. The experience goes over & above the cuts and meat that satiates one to the core. The dedication to fine quality meat and the personalised customer experience is what gets HMan an honourable mention on our list.

With a focus on craftsmanship and quality ingredients, Burgerama’s cloud kitchen has mastered the art of making burgers. Their delectable menu provides a range of carefully crafted burgers that are simplistic yet provide a deep complexity in terms of flavour. With a loyal & ardent fan base in both Delhi & Gurgaon, Burgerama has swiftly carved its place amongst the leading & most loved burger chains in the city over the last two years. The burger joint’s mindfulness shines through not just in their food but also in their adoption of biodegradable packaging. Burgerama gets a well deserved honourable mention on the Power Packers list for acing burgers in an unparalleled, uncompromised manner.

Artisan Lab

An honourable mention is awarded to ARTISAN LAB for its contribution to the F&B landscape of the city. Birthed out of the passions of two talented sisters, Neimat Sethi and Noor Sethi, Artisan Lab opened it’s gates to the city last year. The experiential retail store that has been created with a reverential commitment to craftsmanship blends seamlessly into a restaurant space. The consciously crafted menu serves a unique mix of European dishes that utilize seasonal, fresh and local ingredients. Chef Neimat follows the ‘Friends of the Earth’ philosophy which beautifully translates into her cooking where no ingredient is overused. The cafe has one of the most inclusive menus that take into account different dietary preferences. Advocating the concept of slow eating and slower living, the space is designed in a way that facilitates conscious winding down. With just a year into brick and mortar, Artisan Lab had to get an honourable mention for their contribution to the F&B landscape of the city!
