Music Gigs This Week You Can’t Miss

#DSSCRecommends is back to uplift your mood with the weekly dose of ace live music gigs in #OurCity. The city has been bustling for weeks and the music has everyone grooving and in no mood to stop the symphonies, we have a line-up you can’t miss this week. From travelling musicians to faculty & students, the city has offerings you’ll want to shake to and tap your leg too.

 

Bhavya Raj Collective and Jacob & Neha

Grooving with Bhavya Raj Collective is just what you need to get out of the mid-week groove. Performing renditions of A.R.Rahman, Hariharan, Timberlake, and Coldplay, the band will keep you upbeat through the evening.. Bhavya is an Indie singer and songwriter, who will be pairing with other ace musicians to bring you some classics this Thursday. An opening act by Jacob and Neha, the acoustic duo from Madras/Chennai currently residing in Delhi, will set the vibe with for the night. Performing a combination of original songs and covers, we are looking forward to hearing their latest songs – Avalanche and Times Are Changing, en-live-ning the room.

GMI Night

The Global Music Institute faculty and students will be taking over Depot 48 this Saturday, and the night will be peaking with talent, both raw and refined. Tarun Balani, regarded as “nothing short of remarkable” by All About Jazz, USA, will be taking the drums, while Aditya Balani, singer-songwriter, producer, named as one of the top 10 EP’s by Rolling Stone India, will be playing the guitar. Aman Mahajan, pianist, composer, and bandleader, will be playing the keys, while Zdenek Kansky, from Czech Republic takes the bass. A unique combination of experienced artists taking the stage with students on the path of learning, the unplugged show will be contrasting with varied skills coming together in a harmonious melody.

Mana & Company

Old school R&B, Neo soul, and funk, Mana & Company has performed varied genres at venues across Bangalore and Chennai. Travelling to Delhi to get the capital city grooving, they will be performing at The Piano Man Jazz Club on Saturday. Mana Dhanraj has trained in jazz and hindustani classical and has tested her skill under renowned mentors like Raphaelle Brochet and Natalie John. In order to learn more about her own music and stretch the limits of the genres she adapted, Mana performs across the country pairing with musicians from around the cities. Karan Khosla (guitar), Harshit Misra (bass), Aveleon Vaz (drums), and Sherry Matthews (vocals) will be taking the stage with Mana in Delhi.
