Rock Classics You Can’t Stop Rocking To

Be it in the shower, on our way to work, at karaoke nights, we’ve all belted out to an old time rock classic with a few friends, old and new (what were you thinking?). Even though the title of karaoke champion at DSSC HQ hasn’t changed hands in over six months, there’s nothing more we like than singing our hearts out to some all time rock classics to get our blood pumping and juices flowing.

#DSSCRecommends the top 7 Rock Classics you can rock to all day everyday:

1. Dream On by Aerosmith

Who can ever forget Steven Tyler with his scarf tied on his microphone belting out this 70s classic, which was the first single ever released by the band and a song that saved the band from being dropped by their label! Though not an immediate hit, the song continued to grow in popularity with the evolving rock scene and today is one of the most popular songs under the band’s repertoire not to mention, our go-to karaoke tune.

2. Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi

With over 300 million views on the songs official video on YouTube, this 80s classic quickly turned into the band’s signature song. Whether driving down a long empty stretch or catching up with a few friends over beers & nibbles, this song is sure to get your feet tapping and head rocking.

3. Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard

Be it Def Leppard’s banging beats or the songs modern rendition in the hit film Rock of Ages in 2012, this song had enough rock swagger to keep every man in the 80s interested with its rock and roll theme. Arguably one of the most requested songs at karaoke nights, this track gets us grooving and moving every single time.

4. November Rain by Guns N Roses

Known majorly for its two iconic guitar solos, the song was initially over 25 minutes long with its final version being scaled down to a mere nine minutes. Played widely in rock bars across the city, this classic has been an all-time favourite with students, musicians and of course, yours truly.

5. We Will Rock You by Queen

The only introduction this song needs is it’s iconic stomp, stomp and clap, which has without a doubt taken over the world due to its rhythmic simplicity. Recorded mostly acapella, this Grammy winning song has an unconditional place in our hearts and playlists forever.

6. Highway to Hell by AC/DC

One of the band’s most popular tracks ever, this classic was part of the last album ever recorded by the entire band together. This all time favorite makes regular appearances in all our playlists time after time.
