We’ve shared the story of comfort food caverns Di Ghent Cafe & Boulangerie and Sibang Bakery earlier, and we have yet another Gurgaon gem shining bright across the millennium city. Say hello to Fat Butterfly Bakery & Café, a tiny cafe perfect for some quiet coffee & book time as well as an evening with F&F. Nestled in Baani Square, the cafe welcomes you with warm yellow walls, and pink & blue hued butterflies ready to add that dose of cheer to your day. Matching step is their fare, one bite in and it calms down ‘em belly butterflies! As we made our way through their menu, we knew we’d discovered a new favourite.
A little over a year old, this cafe already has Gurgaon under its spell, and it continues to grow with each new serving they dish out of their kitchen. After a few chomping seshs that warm the cockles of our heart, we decided to bring to you the lowdown on what makes this gem sit on Gurgaon’s culinary crown.
Eat This
“Palate pleasers ahoy!” That is the call of Fat Butterfly’s menu. Sandwiches, pastas, burgers, cupcakes – there’s no picking one favourite here, they’re all here to floor you. The salads keep you company if you’re looking for light bites, however, if like us you have your binge-mode on, the Pasta Aglio Olio, BLT (basil pesto, grilled tomato, pesto rosso, arugula, buffalo mozzarella), and Paprika Potato Wedges shall help you set sail on this culinary cruise. While you indulge in their lip-smackin’ shakes & smoothies on the side, the ganache cupcakes will prove to be the perfect finish to the decadent spread.
#DSSCTopTip: They’re doing a special Flatbread menu this month, and it looks as promising as their resident fare. Their spin on the traditional homemade Italian pizza, you can take your pick from Wild Mushroom & Caramelised onion; Roasted Beetroot, Goat Cheese, Walnuts & Arugula; Peri Peri Grilled Chicken, Roasted Bell Peppers & Corn; and more.
Sip That
A selection of shakes and smoothies, the beverages at Fat Butterfly are decadence defined. With a short listing of six offerings, they’ve made certain to make each one a stellar drink. While the Apple Pie Shake, Blueberry Cheesecake shake, Banana Peanut butter & Chocolate Shake promise to serve you well when you’re seeking shake nirvana, the Banana Berry Smoothie and Cold Coffee keep your indulgence meter in check. There’s no contest for the DSSC eternal fave – the cold coffee, however, their ace apple pie in a glass has us boomerang-ing back to Baani Square every other week.

A step inside this cafe and you know it’s a labour of love. From the stunning decor, to the affable service staff, to the scrumptious treats, there’s no stone left unturned for the feel-good food experience.
