TLM recommends the best spots to eat in Delhi NCR

Gatekeeping is SO 2023 that's why here's our list of where you should definitely be dining this month.
spots to eat in delhi ncr

If there is one thing that singularly unites The Lab Mag team, it is our shared love for food. It is no wonder then that we spend a lot of time thinking about food, trying it and well gatekeeping our favourites. But it’s 2024 and gatekeeping is so not cool. So, we have decided to let you in on the best spots to eat in Delhi NCR.

Here’s our list of the best spots to eat in Delhi NCR

Royal China, Chanakyapuri

Royal China knows how to do Asian cuisine like no other. Their Peking duck to their large selection of dumplings are what dreams are made of. Our recommendation though is for vegetarians, don’t forget to order the turnip cakes.

Coast Cafe, Hauz Khas

This cafe is mentioned at least once every two days in our office and rightly so. They have a well curated menu and we love the beer battered fish tacos over here, also indulge in some mutton sukka with Malabar parantha and their prawn moilee with appams. It is heavenly!

Karim’s, Jama Masjid

While many Karim’s have popped around the city. There is nothing that beats the charm of Old Delhi in winters and that is precisely why we recommend you head out to the OG Karim’s, the one next to Jama Masjid. Try their nihari and korma with sheermal, trust us all those calories and even the travel is worth it.

Rude Chef, Safdarjung

Many in the team were hesitant to share this and almost tempted to gatekeep it. So, you can assume how much of a favourite this spot is. We recommend their crab in kaffir lime with jasmine rice. It’s simply a smacker and we love how fresh the crab is each time.

Mjol Bakehouse, DLF Phase 3

Another one of the team’s favourite spots to eat in Delhi NCR is Mjol Bakery. We love their vanilla custard & mixed berry jam brioche and the pork chili cranberry pie. Also did you know, they source their coffee directly from Coorg. Finally, some delicious coffee in a Delhi cafe after ages.

Pete’s Deli, Hauz Khas

Pete’s Deli has been on everyone’s mind since they first opened. Serving up a storm with their exquisite sandwiches, they have something for everyone. We personally love their eggplant parm and chicken parm sandwiches.

Coastal Reef, Galleria Market

While Coastal Reef has their stores in a few locations, we are recommending their recently opened storefront in Galleria Market in Gurgaon. As for what to eat there, we can’t stop recommending their prawn ghee roast with appam.

Alkauser, Multiple Locations

Alkauser is a classic when it comes to Mughlai food in the city. Our recommendation too is a classic combo: The mutton galouti kebabs with varqi parantha. Who doesn’t love a kebab that just – excuse the cliche -melts in your mouth?

Bomba-Pizzeria & Taqueria, The Gallery on MG Mall

It has only been a hot minute since Bomba opened and it has everyone in a chokehold, for all the right reasons. We love their vodka battered fish tacos and the pepperoni pizza and definitely think you should try them too.

EVOO Eatery & Pizzeria, Geetanjali Enclave

Almost all of us are big fans of pepperoni pizza and no one does a pep as good as EVOO in the city, so definitely plan out a visit for either a date or with your friends over the weekend. Afterall nothing says weekend like a great pizza and beer.

Long Finish by Ramen Donn, Galleria Market

I can’t overstate how much of a personal favourite this is (I am literally there once every two weeks). Shifted from 32nd milestone to the Galleria market, their new storefront is definitely worth a visit. My personal favourite is the Tori Paitan with chicken chashu swapped with the pork chashu.

Zuru Zuru, Shahpur Jat

If you want the best gyoza and yakitori in the city, there is no one doing it better than Zuru Zuru. Their space is a cute tiny eatery, almost reminiscent of small ramen shops in Japan and we love everything right from the food, the vibe to the hosts.

Chard – Grill & Bar, Vasant Vihar

The Philly Melt by Chard

Chard is well known to be the ultimate burger, grilled to absolute perfection. While they have multiple outlets for delivering across Delhi NCR, head to their dine in spot at Vasant Vihar and indulge! Our personal recommendation? The Philly Melt, a generous tenderloin burger with grilled steak, caramelised onions, mushroom and cream cheese.

Ping’s Bia Hoi, One Horizon Center

Ping’s Bia Hoi brings the tropical & colonial yin to the bustling urban yang of Ping’s Cafe Orient, showing the two distinct characters of South East Asia. We personally recommend the Dynamite Shrimp paired best with their Beer Sake!

OMO Cafe : Soul Food Community, Galleria Market

Burnt Butter Gelato

Satisfying the discerning tastes of health-conscious individuals seeking vegetarian fare crafted from locally sourced, organic, and seasonal ingredients, OMO offers a delightfully innovative dining experience. Looking for something to end your meal with? Get their Burnt Butter Gelato, it is as delicious and decadent as it sounds.

Al Jawahar, Jama Masjid

Jama Masjid can be an overwhelming food experience with so many places offering similar food, but Al Jawahar, beats a few by a long shot. Their Mutton Burra and Mutton Boti Kebab are my personal favourites, even as someone that avoids eating mutton!
