Whisky Samba Is Cooking Up A Storm In Gurgaon

Designed as a modern bar with old world charm, Whisky Samba has set out to change 18 as the new 12 in whisky selections. Located in Gurgaon’s upcoming food hub One Horizon Centre, this uber cool lounge is launching on 11th February and we are gearing up for a nibbles & tipples filled weekend. A full-blown whisky lounge – it’s finally time to rejoice!

Seasoned restaurateurs Ashish Kapur, Deepak Seth, and Joydeep Singh came together to create this unique restaurant that showcases their love for whisky and makes it trendy. While not the most popular choice of tipples, they intent to revolutionise this potent drink with a luxurious bar boasting of 180 unique labels and 2,500 displayed whiskies (we are loving the place already).  

Director and Brand Ambassador, Ashish Dev Kapur, shares “Whisky Samba is a sixty-minute holiday providing great ambience, food, drinks and music (some peace in a chaotic city)” and a visit here will reinforce that thought. He goes on to share “Through Whisky Samba, we aim to own the whisky space where you can expect the finest whisky experience with our vast selection of world class whiskies and whisky cocktails and one of a kind food tastings and whisky pairings, all in a hip cool setting”. So, if you are a whisky aficionado or amateur, Whisky Samba has something for everyone.

Clearly inspired by the previous ventures, Ashish reminisces “The finest experience around wine was achieved with The Wine Company, and Antares, Goa offered star chef Sarah Todd’s modern Australian take, with Asian influences in the menu and we intend to achieve similar excellence at Whisky Samba”.

Complementing the stellar tipples, Executive Chef Akshay Bharadwaj has created a modern progressive menu specialising in chargrilled meats, signature open burgers and a Peruvian inspired raw bar. He shares, “The restaurant isn’t defined by cuisine, instead it is defined by the quality and contemporary cooking techniques. We do a lot of slow cooking, open braising and fermentation”. However it’s not just about the choice of dishes, the ingredients are just as important, if not more. Chef Akshay shares “Local ingredients form the crux of Whisky Samba’s menu to create international chargrilled flavours and tasteful food with layers of textures”.
